ESADEIn the “real world,” in other words, outside of the academic environment, people with differing backgrounds are frequently assigned to work together, either for a specific project or on a more permanent basis. Having MBA students, pre-experiential Master’s degree students, and undergraduates all working together to solve a problem is the goal of the Global Integrative Module (GIM) that ESADE is leading. The GIM project is implementing a number of winning ideas from the i2i Challenge: Communication and Information Technology: What else is there?; Externship, Preparing for the Telecom Age; Practical Challenge for Social Good; Using “Big Ideas” to Solve Big Problems; and A Whole New World of Opportunity: Collaboration in the Virtual World.

More specifically, the idea is to bring students across levels (undergrads to MBA) and across arenas (business school, social sciences, etc.), and across regions, working with schools in the US, Europe and Asia, to engage students in an innovative module focused on solving a problem with social innovation implications. In addition, students working on the module will do so virtually, simulating the reality of many global organizations today, and in a world they will likely find themselves in the future.

ESADE is currently working on a local pilot of the project using students from their school, with the intent of being able to begin work globally later this year.

Learn more about this project at the beautiful new ESADE campus in Barcelona, Spain.
